Baby Theo | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

If you know me, you know that I love old historic homes with lots of character. Peeking in to open houses in my neighborhood of Indianapolis is a favorite Sunday past time. So when I walked into Annalise and Bryce’s historic Lewisville home, I was in heaven! Photographing a newborn lifestyle session for baby Theo in a home with this much love and character was a session dream come true. Their home was inviting and cozy, every bit as inviting and cozy as Annalise and Bryce themselves. Watching them love on this new baby boy of theirs was a delight!

Single Frame Project: April | Indianapolis Family Photographer

The Single Frame Project is a project I’ve taken on this year in which I’m trying to take a single photo each day every month of my personal life with my big camera. Just one photo, ideally one frame, a day. To be honest, this month I probably shot about 80% of our days. But one thing I’m noticing is that the images I get each month that I love, I REALLY love them. And bonus- I’m finding that some things I’m learning about composition and lighting in my personal images I’m able to carry over into some of my client sessions and I’m loving those, too.

Ranly Family | Indianapolis Lifestyle Photographer

Because our winter and spring here in Indianapolis were such oddball seasons this year, the Ranly family’s lifestyle session had some beautiful but odd combinations! The weather in the previous weeks had been unseasonably warm and sunny for February, so daffodils were popping up everywhere at the Ranly’s old farmhouse. Yet it was still only a week into March and relatively cold outside on this day. We had planned for a cozy, pajama-clad family session with hot chocolate and sink baths. But since Gin wanted to be sure to create images that captured the personality of their old farmhouse, we couldn’t ignore all those beautiful spring flowers popping up all over their property! So we added it all in together- a little flower-picking, a little sink-bathing, and a little hot chocolate-and-marshmallow-indulging!

I’ve said it before, I adore photographing sisters! I could seriously photograph families with little girls every session and be happy. These two were adorable! The perfect combinations of sweet, shy, loving, and spunky. And I promise you’ll swoon over their big beautiful eyes!
