Single Frame Project : Monthly Portraits | Indianapolis Family Photographer
Photographing my own family was one of my personal projects of 2017. Included in that project were monthly portraits of my three kids, Matilda, Coralie, and Eddie. I was inspired by Sarah Cornish, a photographer out of Colorado, whose amazing portraits of her six (almost seven) children are just gorgeous. I expected that photographing them throughout the year would allow me to look back and see how they’ve grown, and it did. That was inevitable. But what I didn’t quite expect was how much looking at those photographs of each individual child in succession would define their personalities and exactly who they are in 2017.
Matilda’s 2017 defining words: shy, rule-follower, anxious, secretive
Coralie’s 2017 defining words: open, bold, imaginative, impulsive
Eddie’s 2017 defining words: new, chunky, happy, relaxed
Gough Family | Indianapolis Family Photographer
This downtown Indianapolis family asked to be photographed right in their neighborhood. And as a lover of old homes and historic pockets of our city, I happily obliged! One of my favorite images of 2017 came from this session; can you guess which one it is??
Clark Family, First Birthday | Indianapolis Lifestyle Photographer
First things first, this entire blog post unusually features black and white conversions of images from this first birthday session. That’s not something I normally post in a blog, but as I was editing the session, something about this black and white edit just really got me excited! The sink bath, the reading in bed cuddles, the family heirloom piano- it all seemed so timeless and therefore in need of being in black and white. I delivered the gallery with all the images in color and black and white like I always do, but my blog audience gets the pleasure of seeing this session in monochrome!
And if you’re looking for a unique way to commemorate a milestone, whether it be a first birthday, a homecoming, a holiday, consider booking a lifestyle session with me this year! I love working with families in their homes!
