Brand Family

I’d been dying to shoot a sunrise session this fall, and the Brand family was game for an early morning wake-up call. We started super early and I Ioved seeing how the light changed over the hour that we were shooting. From early morning dewy light to warming rays, and these two little ones couldn’t have been in more pleasant moods!

Schwallie Family | Fairview Sessions

This fall I was fortunate enough to photograph a few families during my Fairview Sessions in southeastern Indiana. Fairview Sessions are family sessions I book on or near my parents’ property and the farm that I grew up on. The land is beautiful and full of rolling hills and huge vistas that I just can’t seem to find farther north in central Indiana, so I love taking a weekend or two out of the year and heading back down south to photograph family and friends.

This sweet and beautiful family happens to be my cousin, her husband, and their four children. They live in Cincinnati, but my cousin spent plenty of time visiting us at our farm during my childhood and I know has good memories of that land, our barn, our horses, and quality time spent among family.

It’s amazing how time flies and I almost can’t believe she has four almost-close-to-being-grown kids with the oldest heading off to college next year! I’m so glad she found the time to get them all together for the evening and create some beautiful images and memories to hold close to her heart.

The Dawson Family

Every time I photograph the Dawson family, I look forward to learning something new. I’ve learned about the Korean tradition of celebrating an infant’s first 100 days of life, about the colorful and traditional Korean clothing for children, and this fall I was fortunate enough to meet Katrina’s biological family as they were visiting from Korea! She’s only known them for a few years, and has cherished every moment she’s been able to spend with them in her adult life. One of the best remarks I’ve ever heard from a client is when Katrina thanked me for photographing her and her daughter, Molly, with her biological mother and sister, saying she’s been waiting years for a photograph of them together. Unfortunately her mother threw her back out on this day and was a little restricted with movement, but it did not dampen the spirits or the love in her eyes.
